Headlight installation. What's missing?

I'm trying to put headlights in a grill that didn't have any. I bought the bulb and retaining rings. The holes on the retaining ring won't match up with holes in the bucket. What am I missing?

Ooops.. just noticed that you are missing a "bucket" that fits on top of the one you have, then the trim ring screw holes will match up. And a spring missing.

Will get a pic tomorrow if you need.

How far off are the holes from these 3 in the bucket?

Yep ... You are missing most of the adjust or headlight alignment parts.

There are 5 components - the "base" piece you have in the grill, the bulb, a "cradle" for the bulb that attaches to the adjustment screws, the spring that connects the piece you have and the bulb cradle, and the chrome bezel.

You do have the wrong bezel. The correct bezel has a tab that slots into the top of the base and a hole for a screw at the bottom.

I think I left out a part. Looking at a diagram on Page 68 of Section 3 of the service manual, the ring you have attaches to the cradle.

At least on a 76. Maybe a 78 is different, but it seems unlikely.
