Hey everybody! So my headlights won't turn on. All the other lights are working. I was thinking is just a fuse, but they all appear to be okay. Any thoughts?

Headlight dimmer switch.

Is there a way of checking that? Think I'll check the wires to the headlights to see if there's power there first. Thanks though! That'll be next on my long list.

Have you taken a circuit test light around to see where the power is and isn't? Headlight switches have been known to burn out. Dimmer switch is also prone to failure.

On my 76, one of the wires at the headlight plug, had totally corroded inside the insulation. I had continuity up to a certain point, then nothing. Peeled the insulation off, and the what once was copper wire, had turned to blue/green powder.

Upgrade to relays and that will remedy a number of problems, and give you brighter headlights to boot.

Headlight dimmer switch.
It's a very common problem because it sits on the floor pull the plug and I would bet you have a lot of corrosion. I have had this problem a few times.

Ah, I shall check both of those problem areas. Thanks for the help! First thread.. success!

So the problem was sorted out. The dimmer on the floor was the issue. Thanks! Would've taken a long time to figure that out on my own.

As your description mentions "lots of rust" I thought I'd chime in. As you may (or not) have noticed the headlights are grounded to the fender inner skirts. Steel isn't a very good conductor (compared to copper) and what many have done as part of a general headlight upgrade is to run those ground (actually called negative) wires back to the battery.
