Heater Core Bypass Valve

Just curious if anybody has installed a heater core bypass valve to keep the cab cooler in the summertime? If so, any recommendation on valves? The valve going to my core always seems to leak by a bit and I always have some residual heat even with the heat knob all the way in. This is the one I've been looking at:

I don't have a bypass, but I would say the majority of my heat comes from the engine compartment and floor which are metal and act like an oven radiating heat. Main reason I run without a top 99 percent of the time unless it is below 45 - 50 degrees

That valve in the Amazon link looks just like a cable version of the valve that I used, ought to be a good option if you don't want to fool with vacuum.
