Since completing the Motorcraft 2100 carb swap, I have really noticed how bad my engine idles. So, I've been thinking, reading and pricing swapping in either an HEI (like a Davis Unified Ignition) or a MSD type upgraded ignition. And I have a few questions.
1. What is the main differences between the two?
2. Going with a DUI type HEI distributor, should I also upgrade the Ignition Control Module (ICM)?
3. Can I install just a MSD coil and ICM, and not a brand new distributor? Can I get away with just a new cap and rotor?
4. Pros and Cons of both?
Thanks in advance everyone
