So I opened my diffs to find out that when the PO installed a Dana 44 with 373s he didn't change the front Dana 30 from 272s... What's would my best option be?

I would change the front to match the rear.
What size tires do you have?

I would stay with your rear gearing. Front seems to be highway gearing IMO . I have 4.88s and would not care to go any lower.

I'm running 35s

I have 3.73s in mine right now with 35s. Its not too bad but the 2.72 ratio is garbage for small tires. Remember when you swap out the 2.72 that you'll need a new carrier as well. That carrier is smaller.
