258 Powered Scout II
Hello,

Along with my 1985 CJ7 I have a 1974 International Scout with a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . A recent project on it is swapping the T-18 for a full syncro T-19 from a later Scout. This also is an opportunity to take care of (hopefully...) the jerky clutch in it. The IH application clutches aren't very available. There is a source for a Borg and Beck finger style; $360 (+AMC 150 core) for a reman and $460 new. The Scout has an "Angle Link" style clutch in it currently. The flywheel is identical to one from my CJ except for an extra set of holes to bolt the angle link clutch in.

I'm thinking about getting a diaphragm clutch for a CJ and a 10.5" with 1.25" x 10 tooth input friction disc for a cheaper homebrew clutch in the Scout. I need to know the finger height to see if its close enough to being within adjustment for the throwout bearing. Anyone got one apart and could measure the installed clutch finger height to the flywheel? The inner diameter of the fingers would be helpful too as the Scout input and throwout collar are larger than the Jeep, as would the inner diameter of the pressure plate to compare to whatever disc I might try using. It looks like I can buy a Jeep clutch, new flywheel, and a disc to adapt it all together for a bit over half cost of the reman Scout clutch. Any measurements and photos from any style clutch would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Wish the Transmission was still out of my CJ, this would be much easier!
