ON THE HUNT AGAIN
Started for those who enjoy talking cars/muscle/trucks......

The mail jeep I mentioned in another thread, had a fuel injected 327, my cousin and I scrounged from a crumpled vette, with a welded up Dana 44 rear. Some kinda 4 speed, don't remember which at this time. We had what could basically be called lakester pipes. It was freaking loud as hell.
The cousin and I would dust the local rich kids in their mustangs and camaro's that mommy and daddy bought.

BTW, in high school I drove a short wheelbase '78 Ford truck with a massaged 429SCJ, gotta say thanks to my dad for that one, LOL.

Hope I can do the same for my boy.

I have a set of Ford 429 SCJ Heads & a port matched aluminum Hi-Riser intake manifold sitting;) in the barn.

Every vehicle ever made deserves to be built up. It is a rule.:chug:

I think I will stick to my own favorite extreme sports, the rocket powered street luge and my all time favorite, lava surfing. I'm not sure the world is ready for a 200 mph mail truck.
An acquaintance of mine once put a 350 Chevrolet in the back seat of a Corvair.
He wanted to do wheel stands. about the third wheelie the front suspension folded up like a $2 pocket watch. He was actually upset and blamed the entire incident on GM's poor engineering. The whole thing still makes me laugh. I wish you could see the look of surprise on his face when he went over the curb.

The Outlaw 10.5 car I help with... :) --> OutlawRacing.com > HOME PAGE / MAIN Where 7.5 in the quarter mile is just NOT fast enough!

Those familiar with the GA state PD, know they used to run mustang interceptors with blown v-8's to chase down drug runners.
I had one challenge the old '78 ford. He was suprised when he couldn't run me down.
But was nice to talk to once I slowed down, LOL.
This was under controlled conditions and no one was in danger.

Didn't Macon Co. run Transmission /Am's in the 70's?

I believe so.

Found a ford maverick with a 302, looks like an original grabber.
If I get it I'll swap on some ausi. heads and make a nice cleavor (boss) 302.
Found another with no motor but was a 302 car, might swap in a 390 after
I get the 428 crank from my dad, make it a 410. Oh yeah 450ftlb at 2500 RPM,
LOL this should get interesting.

That's if the commando deal falls through. 410 in the commando, hmmm.....

I went mud'in & ran to a group that was seriously into engine swapping.
The one I liked was a "Srambler like mine, but with a Cad 501ci. V8.
There was a guy with a 74' "Blazer with a 455 Stage 1 Buick.
And last but not least a 78'"Bronco"pilot with a 454 V8-that's a Ford 427/w a 428 crank.:D
All those guys were running 44"s or 49"s, the land of the giants.

Crazy motors!

I want one of these:

Scared the hell out of me today - driving home at about 85 and the limit is 70... I got hit with a laser - BUSTED! I guess that I wasn't worth it as they let me by.... WHEW! :)

Blessed by the jeep gods, my friend.

But it does bring up a funny story.
When I still had the '78 ford I was rolling down a 4 lane with the big grassy divider in the middle. I hit the top of this hill and at the top of the other hill is a GA SP, i look down and see I'm doing 80 the limit is 55mph. As we meet at the bottom between the hills he's got the brakes locked and slides it sidways in the road about to head through the median. I'm like he must be new! Your not gonna make it through a median in S.GA without 4wd. The Okefenokee swamp is just down the road. Sure enough he shoots into the grassy median and I see mud and grass spray out behind him. STUCK! I get back on the gas and took the next dirt road I came to and followed them till I got home. I bet he was pissed at me for days and days.

Clocking in at the track (free wifi)... We ran a 7.66 - :)

I cannot tell you how I WILL NEVER CONSIDER DRIVING THIS BEAST!

:)

What detector are you running? I had a sweet Valentine 1 with the remote display, that saved my butt on a few occasions, and let me know that I was busted on 1 (Laser in CT, but fought in court and WON)!.
I was in PA, running up from Kentucky, and they use traffic warning devices that will trigger radar detector. So I'm crusing about 85 ish, and have a small caravan following me, and all of a sudden i got 2 bogeys on it, and slowed down quickly, and sure enough a cop was hiding behind a traffic device. So we all went by at 70 ish, and the cop must have been mad, because he pulled out and left! :D
Valentine1 is the best, and only detector that I would buy!
