Okay, when I was looking into buying this jeep I was not completely sure of its history. I knew when buying it that it has an orange paint job, no tail gate, the 225 Dauntless Buick 225 V6 , 1971 CJ5 . So with all of those facts I started my resurch on the jeep. I came to see that all CJ5 's from 71 with out tail gates were Renegade 2's. then reading on I see only 600 were made that year from the factory, I also read that some deal ships could have put stickers on some to help push them. Anyway moving on, I found my paint and trim code tag on passenger side. Says paint 999 trim 340. So looking at the paint code 999 that could be the sunset orange or the big bad orange. Sunset orange only AMC 150 were made. Big bad orange only 50 were made. Then the 340 from what I found is the Renegade trim package. Now all is matching up for me. The jeep as i know had spent its life in a pull barn used every so often on a farm, reading 36xxx miles. Jeep has a couple of rust spots on the drivers side floor pan a out 5x5 inch that has been patched pretty well. Outside of that no rust. So I'm asking that someone prove me wrong that it is not rare or that in fact it's a rare CJ5 .
