Hydraulic Clutch in '69 CJ5

I am replacing the floor mount pedals with hanging pedals. '69 CJ5 with V6 & T-14 . Brakes are no problems. Clutch master cylinder mount is no problem. I need advice about how people mounted the slave cylinder and what master & slave cylinder was used? Did a search but found info only on newer inline 6 jeeps.

Most Masters are about 13/16" bore and the slave at 7/8" bore. The most common part numbers used to retrofit early CJ's for say a Dorman brand are: MC #CM106439 & the slave #CS11956 but almost anything will work as long as its adaptable to your clutch pedal and Bell Housing and you can get the desired travel out of the slave.

Novak sells a nice slave and mount that works well with the V6. Most other slaves are just build your own bracket .

Pushrod travel on the MC is important so that the slave travels enough distance at the clutch fork to get complete release on the clutch. Most pressure plates require .400-.600 of travel at the bearing to release. Since the clutch fork ratio at the bell housing is normally 2:1 means that the slave needs to travel twice the distance or about 1.200 in. The correct throughout bearing & collar length is also important.
The equation of travel at the MC is really fluid volume and comes from where your mounting the MC and where it connects to the pedal.
