Does anyone have directions on how to make the harnesses that were sold on here?

I was packing up for a hunting trip at 7 am Saturday morning and my 6 year old Daughter, and 5 year old son were there in that picture. My youngest son ,4 years old, was still in bed.

They ate quite the helpers, and love the Jeep!

Those harnesses were done by TurboGus, but I believe he does not do that anymore. You could shoot him a pm for some advice. I have seen those relay comversions on the net though, even the great Jeephammer has a drawing for them.

Well heck he and I are good friends. He lives in same town I work in. I'll get the details there. Thank you.

Sorry All for not getting to this last weekend. It was about the worst past week in my life, starting with my Grandmother having a Heart Attack last Saturday, then passing away last Sunday night. Between service, explaining to my Kiddos where their Nana went, and dealing with things; a week later life is getting more orderly.

OK, so I bought these thinking they will be a simple Plug a Play light... well in their defense they were... but they did not fit into the light bucket.

I went to my Parents house to do the comparison with my Fathers 1998 TJ, with a handful of tools to do the swap. To my surprise they did not fit in mine, but fit VERY NICELY into Dad's TJ. We took pictures of stock TJ vs Stock 1981 CJ, and then we took pictures of the Stock CJ vs the KC Gravity LED Headlights in the TJ.

WOW! WOW! WOW! We did the comparison and it was impressive in the back of my parents yard, but once we went for a ride we were even more amazed.

I set my old digital camera in manual mode and set the aperture so that all the pictures would be taken with the same settings. Mind you I am not a professional photographer, mechanic, writer,... the list goes on. So I am about as average as anyone here.

I will post the pictures of the comparison, then I will post what I had to do to get them into my Jeep.

This photo needs some explaining. We are parked on a rise, there is a dip in front of us then a hill. The fence in the background is about 175 yards away, and the ground throughout that distance is uneven.

In conclusion I had to nearly wrestle these KC lights out of my Dad's Jeep, and I have a feeling a second set may be ordered. They are very impressive and have a consistent light pattern across the road and they have throw light a great distance.

I will up date this with more photos of them on the road and how I got them in my CJ too.

 :chug: :)

Very Happy With These Lights!

Any questions?

Cheers,

Sorry to hear about your grandmother I do not look fwd to the day I lose my Grandmother.

and wow what a difference such a crystal clear light :chug:

So I'm trying to get a good picture of the lights to show how wide of an angle they project, and how consistent they are, but I don't have a tripod to set the camera on high enough to capture the shot.

I've bee driving it more, and tool it to work yesterday (100 mile round trip). For as much as I have driven, I have yet to have someone flash their lights at me, so I must have set them right (or too low).

I’m going to start from the top for this installation…

There is a small screw on the bottom of the chrome bezel, take that out and lift the bezel. There is a small sheet metal hook on the top of the bezel that has to lift out.

To take out the light only, there are two screws that hold the sheet metal bezel that secures the bulb in.

To get the alignment bucket out for the modification: remove the four screws on the perimeter.

Ok so I found out about the difference in size immediately.

The stock CJ light bucket is shallow and it has a small hole in the back.
20160909_212353_zpso0rufmou.webp

The Stock TJ light bucket is much deeper and it has a large hole in the back.

I took a 4.5” grinder and used a cutting wheel (NOT GRINDING WHEEL) and cut the end cap off about 1 inch. I did this with both buckets. Then I reassembled the two buckets and the light. I made sure all the wires and screws missed and installed them.

I will get more pictures!

These things are great. I have been driving this so much more since this upgrade! I can’t get enough of them, and have had some great comments from Jeepers that have noticed, and a few random people. These really make the Jeep look great and do not take away the vintage look. They are clear, clean, and simple, but amazing.

Thanks,
Joe Zeppe

I do not know why it is not showing the pictures. I wonder if it needs to start on a new page.

kinda miss being able to see them but you can follow the link to them tho.
