My luck is changing... after buying another set of “Aluminum Slots” for 72-75 Jeep CJ5 Renegades my neighbor informed me that he had a set of original wheels from that era. I got the set for $100! And other than needing a good cleaning and polish, they look perfect! He’s thinking he got the best end of the deal.
I didn’t argue price, just snatched them up!

I am a big fan of those aluminum slotted wheels. When I bought the wheels I got I just could not find any like that.

Summit Racing has them in any width you want. Coincidentally they are the same brand that came on the early Renegades. But... they are expensive!
I’m still stuck in the 70’s on prices so what seems ridiculous to me might be normal for everyone else. I still think it’s worth it!
I’m also doing everything possible to restore mine so they are “period correct” so it was crucial to have the right wheels & tires. Tread is slightly different but the brand is right.
