Greetings. I have a 79 CJ7
AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l inline 6 with aftermarket intake and exhaust.
T-18 Transmission
Dana 30 front with AMC20 rear (locker)
Hard top and doors
8500lb winch mounted on front
Near new 31in tires
No body rust, frame looks good besides rear drivers side may need work in near future.
Clutch probably needs replaced. Still driveable but could use a new one

Just looking for idea and thoughts on value. Possibly going to sell or trade. Thanks

You're going to get as many different responses as there are members on this forum... I would say anywhere between $3,500 to $7,500, there are so many variables, the market in your part of the country being the biggest one. Are there a lot of CJ's for sale there? If there are, how does yours stack up against the others that are for sale? What does yours have that the others don't? The T-18 is a big seller for anyone wanting to build an off-road CJ, not so much for a street cruiser, see what I mean? You're probably going to have to keep an eye your local Craigslist, and eBay and just what other CJs are for sale in your area and base your price on that data.

I also agree that 3,500 - 7,500 is a realistic estimate. There's just too many variables, that can swing it either way. Like the difference between selling it in the winter or summer. Also location. If your in a economically depressed area, or you're selling it in place where people have money to burn (College Town, Military Base). Just check that Craigslist to get an idea of local market value. Good Luck!

Thanks for the info. There isn't much to compare it to around my area. I will just have to see what happens.
