Ignition upgrade confussion

Here's the deal. I have a 1986 CJ7 that has a 1974 AMC 304 dropped into it, therefore it does NOT have electronic ignition. I would like to upgrade the ignition to electronic. I have purchased from the junk yard a distributor and ignition module from a 1989 Grand Wagoneer 5.9 ( darn they are proud of there parts, but these later years are getting tough to find ). Anyway here is the dilemma, how do I marry these things up. I would like to do the Team Rush upgrade but I first have to install the electronic ignition. Wiring it the main question and will this distributor work? Evidently it is interchangible with the 1979 CJ7 AMC 304 , but I am not sure of the application. Thanks for the help

Thanks, I have read the multitude of blogs and their variations and if I had found and answer I would not have posted the question and bothered everyone. The question is the application of an 1989 5.9 distributor on a 1974 5.0 engine ....... 15 years things can change. The wiring color code for one. There is no consistecy in the color coding. Since the post I have figured it out by process of elimination but still wonder if there is something I am missing........I'll figure it out so no need to send back, just though there might be someone out there that has had the same problem! By the way their is a adapter variation that is not talked about in all the blogs and would be good for people to be aware of. Thanks for the help and Merry Christmas.
