Question for you all on the wiring of the amp light and oil light in the cluster. I have the wire coming from the harness that goes to each but each light has two wires. So he question is which connection does the wire from the harness go to and what connects to the other wire? One goes straight into the light and one to like the outside of the case. Is it a hot wire from the ignition?

This is what it looks like

I have all mine wired together gauge lights wire straight to my light switch.

If they are are bulbs that that are used as illumination got the gauges then one side should be ground and the other should go to a 12v hot wife when your lights are on. Or..... If they turn on the warning lights for low oil pressure and bolts then for the oil pressure one would go to a ignition on 12v source and the other would go to a sender that is plumbed into the motor.. Same with the altenator except they use some elfin magic to make it work. You would need a a wire diagram to figure it out.

This is getting kinky!!!

What if your wife is only 6 volt?

Seriously though thanks Jim. I found a diagram that also showed the hot going to the outside leg so that is confirmed.

As it turns out my harness doesn't have a wire for the amp light. I talked to painless and they are looking at it and should get back to me tomorrow

I will have to steal one of the unused wires already in the harness.
