Intake Manifold adapt....need some advice tech advice please.

Hi everyone!! Im new here but not to Cjs....I have a 76 CJ5 stock with an AMC 304 . So Im wanting to upgrade my stock intake for a edelbrock 2131 performer intake, however I want to keep my Motorcraft 2100. The intake says it wont accept any two barrel carbs, so I was going to use an adapter kit (MR. Gasket 1933). does anyone know if this adapter kit will work? I really dont want to upgrade to a 4 barrel.

Thanks all for any light you guys can shed on this... I just dont want to buy the manifold only to find I have to keep upgrading..

also... would this upgrade ruin my low end torque, or would it help improve performance?

I am by far no expert here, but intakes and carburators should be matched to an engines capibilities. Most preformance intakes have specific preformance chacteristics at certain rpms. Matching a carburator to that intake is important. You need to find a speed shop with someone that knows this stuff to get the right setup. Maybe you could call Summit Racing or Jeggs for advice. Rod

Why not go to a slightly bigger carb? Nothing says you have to go with a 750.. I think they make a holley in the 500 CFM range. If your gonna add an intake to help get air in you probably want to make sure more air is available. Also check into Gronk performance on here.. He makes some custom adapters for AMC motors..
