With a major rain event, got water behind the dash. Since then, the intermittent function of my wipers doesn't work anymore. Switching to that area only makes the wipers run constant. They also don't automatically return to stop when switched off no matter what function I use. I have to turn it off at the right time so they are over in the stopped position.

Do you think it's the switch or the controller module that is the culprit?

My guess would be the control module. The switch appears to work normally.

Went out to remove the switch to inspect and thought I'd give it one last try and voila, it's working again. Guess it just needed to dry out.

Apparently your not suppose to let the switch get wet. :o

Looking at the control module, it's completely sealed. :cool:

Thank goodness since the control module is no longer available and the switch is $65.

Wait, they have a park function for the wipers? I always thought having to stop the wipers at the right time was normal. Just figured it was too old for auto stop. Maybe I have something else to fix now.

For future reference, I found the intermittent wiper switch that is suppose to have the correct pin layout;

BWD S3579. There was also an AC Delco F6300 but it appears to have been discontinued.

Sometimes you can find the control module on eBay. It only came with the 80's CJ7 models. So not many around.
