If you just bought your Cj or dont know the last time the fluids were replaced check them now! Odds are good your Cj has been a few places you dont know about in its over 30 years of existence.

Water crossings , mud pits and dirt trails while fun , are not your friends. If you have seals and gaskets that leak fluid out, the reverse is also true. These leaks are a way in as well. Many of you have looked into gear swap prices and were shocked by the overall cost.

I've learned the hard way that a manual Transmission left in the jeep with out some kind of top over it will have water run down the shift handle and fill the case up.. You pick it up thinking you scored and when you pop the cover its half full of rusty gears.. I pull covers from every thing I buy or sell.. Want to buy an axle from me?? It will be on stands with the cover off when you get here just to verify condition and gears are not damaged.

Want to sell me some axles? Ill show up with my tools, jack stands and drain pan to pull the covers. If I can't pull the covers I'm leaving with out the axle.

Even when buying a motor I'd like to pull the valve covers, intake and oil pan.

Looks like my 20 as well. I'd rather smell a pile of dog turd than that nasty gear oil.

Yep, keeping your fluids changed is cheap insurance.

A-A-A-A-K! I've got one of those! Sheesh--how obvious.
