I always went the simple route when towing a Jeep or any vehicle, I always had a spare cheapy used 12v deep cycle battery I would use in place of the OEM battery, and only run the hazards including disconnecting the front hazards(a simple unplug)(battery last the whole trip easily) I know some places might require full brake lights and signals based on state laws, but I was never pulled over for just running hazards on the tow vehicle, I would be mindful when turning in case some a-hole tried to pass at the time I wanted to turn. Then at destination, change battery back...sometimes leave the Deep C in lol, re-plug in the front signals and go.

In TX, you are technically required to have brake/turn lights on a towed vehicle. Many tow truck drivers will have those magnet lights they stick on the roof of a car being towed (won't work on a soft top or fiberglass hard top Jeep). I know how much that is enforced, but it is supposed to be required. Connect one plug and flip a switch and I'm legal now.

If planning on using them more than once or twice a year, definately get the correct setup, I hardly tow a vehicle, so I don't worry about it.
