Want to start up a Scary / Hairy pictures thread.

Rules (more like guidelines )

Picture included.
Small explanation, ie where, when, what happened.

Doesn't have to be extreme! Just something that (as IO says) had that little voice in your head screaming like a girl. :D

Any Takers? I'll start...

Mine is more from my "learning experiences" than technical difficulty of the trail portion.

Rubicon Trail last year (may 2012) - Tried to let my gearing slow me down this small drop... apparently 26:1 was not "low" enough to do so. I let out my clutch in first "Low" and let off the brake. My jeep shot down the drop and as I realized it was not working how i planned, I hit the brakes ( a little aggressively :p ) and the rear end came up off the rocks. For a sec, I thought we were going :censored: over end...

This is when I first decided, I will get lower gears, and just keep replacing brakes as needed...

By the way, it's a "Hair" steeper / larger in person that in this photo... :o

I was driving off the ledge which has a steep drop off on the drivers side
and didn't hit it square enough, so the driver side rear tire dropped off first.
Thought I was going to roll over and down the hill for sure. It felt a lot worse than it looks.

This was SteelClover on our last trip last summer, his tire went about as high as possible without ending up on your side. But that also could be due to almost everybody grabbing his Jeep to keep it on the wheels.

This was two weeks ago. I was so worried about completing this that I had to stop and drink a six pack just to get up the nerve to figure out what to do next!

HAHAHA! I couldn't resist that. I get nervous just looking at yall's action shots! Keep them coming and make me glad I live in the relative "flat ground".:chug:

Here's one of my buddy's cj, it was higher than the pic. I thought he was going over backwards for sure.

This was scary. He was rolling down the hill and I was at the bottom.

Yes. That was the driver and his dog came out after the first roll. We rolled the flat fender over and he continued wheeling the trails at Evans Creek ORV Park for the rest of the day.

How did the cool looking two blonde kids fair in the electric Jeep accident? :D

He is my Grandson pulling his Uncle. In his Jeep.

Mine that I have pictures of isn't anywhere near as scary as some of those already posted...when it used to be a trail rig, I did have some of those moments...Just no photos for proof. :o

But here's my mud skipper in action. All the fast guys (I liked to refer to myself as one of them) had to make sure when we lined up at the starting line that we were PERFECTLY straight in line with the end...well, apparently I still had my front wheels cocked a little to the left when I was lining up. Here's the pics.

I think these were awesome. My mom caught them at my last race in North Carolina before I was discharged from the Marine Corps.

Lifting the front tires off the line:

I think by this point I had my right boot through the floorboard. Shown by the fire coming from the exhaust.

This is where I noticed i was getting a little off track...heading really fast for the left wall, as you can see my tires are a little cocked...

Getting off the loud pedal so I can steer back to center.

Didn't have any more pics beyond that, but there is a hump at the end of the pit. I caught a little air as I had over-corrected back to the right. I came out of the pit, landed a little crooked, and was on my left two tires for a bit until I sat it back down on all fours. Needless to say, I was a little...puckered...

Ahh, them's were the days.

Ok heres a recent non trail one...

I was meeting for fishing @ 5:AM so got everything hooked up and ready the night before...

Got side tracked before I actually aired up trailer tires with my OBA under my hood... So i never re-latched the hood...

Next morning everything was going fine, out on the freeway @ 4:30AM like planned... :D:D:D

Oh yeah... the hood...

On the freeway, with my boat trailered behind me at 60 MPH, my hood flew up and smacked the :censored: out of the windshield frame... pretty lucky no further damage, and that it was 4:30 AM on a weekend... no traffic...

Still a little hairy / scary!

It'll buff out...

I'm waiting for these pictures!

That was at Browns Camp Oregon. I was the only one to make it to the top without stopping. I even out did a Wrangler Rubicon 4dr. :D

That was nice! Nice jeep too!

JR, I did some hood work like that once. I removed the hood, laid it on the garage floor and stepped on it, it popped back into place. I reinstalled the hood and primered where the paint peeled. A fellow club member with an M38, forgot to latch his hood and it flew completly off.
