Want to start up a Scary / Hairy pictures thread.
Rules (more like guidelines
)
Picture included.
Small explanation, ie where, when, what happened.
Doesn't have to be extreme! Just something that (as IO says) had that little voice in your head screaming like a girl.
Any Takers? I'll start...
Mine is more from my "learning experiences" than technical difficulty of the trail portion.
Rubicon Trail last year (may 2012) - Tried to let my gearing slow me down this small drop... apparently 26:1 was not "low" enough to do so. I let out my clutch in first "Low" and let off the brake. My jeep shot down the drop and as I realized it was not working how i planned, I hit the brakes ( a little aggressively
) and the rear end came up off the rocks. For a sec, I thought we were going
over end...
This is when I first decided, I will get lower gears, and just keep replacing brakes as needed...
By the way, it's a "Hair" steeper / larger in person that in this photo...
