i did replace main rod bearings in journals
 
leaving work now...headed to autozone , beer store and then shop...ill be back in touch :chug:
 
Update to felloz jeepers ...listen guys I me pit stopped at mexixn restrant and they got "specialz" :chug: ...I'm be here for while , jest mite best do oil gauge tomoeow. Thanks. Holar tomorow. But I did obtain the partz for 17 dolar so we do this in morn

So sunpro mechanical gauge says i have 55 pounds at idle and after 30 min idle i have 20to pounds at idle...numbers up across board...sheew i was worried...guess inards of old electric gauge was worn out..i highly re:)commend upgrade
 
The knocking has seemed to quiten down, but still present. New valve cover should be here Tuesday and I will pull valve cover to inspect. I'm leaning towards lifter sticking.
 
So I found the knocking. Two of my rocker arms were not rocking as high as the others and were barley moving. So I tried tapping on them to free up and no luck. Well the old man so happened to stop by and lauged at me and said " son son son , want your old man to teach u a lesson tonight" . Seing as I was tired and soaked with sweat ( just got through cleaning out horse stalls) and in a bad mood, I told him to piss off ( we argue like brothers everyday). He said as he walked off to get MMO and pur on the two then heat it up. SO u know as soon as I seen him get out of sight I was headed to autozone for some marvels( cause that old fart knows some things) So I took some Marvel Mystery Oil and poured on the two then took my decal heat gun and heated them up while engine was running. AND LOW AND BEHOLD THE DAG GUM THINGS POPPED AND WENT TO ROCKING LIKE A ROCKING CHAIR. :censored: He was right again......Knocking went away.....Saw dad this morning and he asked if I got my little knocking Jeep to quiten down ? I said yeah I figuered it out....He just grinned and walked away
 
Oh and FYI. I think my valves were not seating all the way because prior to this repair the carb would pop back pretty often with backfire....since the rockers freed up and knocking went away I cant get it to backfire out carb at all. Then I took seafoam and unplug manifold vaccum on carb and let my engine drink 1/3 can of seafoam and cut it off...sat 30 min...restarted and smoked like a freight train for 15 minutes....and now my idle is a much more very steady smooth idle , rev ups are smoother to....engine has no shake to it at idle.........So conclusion is I think my engine just had 150k of crud and PO had never cleaned it out that good....And I changed my oil and filter soon as I got done to and took air nozzle and blowed my galleys out real good and boy at the :dung: I had up in there( And I had just changed oil 3 weeks ago when I replaced lower end bearings). Everything is good for right now engine wise on my new jeep project FINALLY :chug:. Now to start on the brakes, suspension, and steering on it. See yall in the other forums
