There was a Pontiac Grand Prix advertising campaign a while back, "Wider is Better."

Perhaps the wide Jeep is the product of someone who was very suggestible during that campaign.

I think they are trying to make it look like a Hummer.

Check out this build of the CJ Gaucho, Jeff Scherb's Jeep Projects The frame was lengthen for this build. Details can be found in the thread. Rod

First glance, yeah it's a jeep pick-up .... second glance wait a minute .... third glance "Hey that's VERY cool."

I don't remember where it is, but there's a company in the north west that makes high quality Jeep components. They make a jeep style front "cab" and various sized beds, short all the way to very long. If money were flowing like water I'd have me a project .... a very jeep like vehicle but I'd never call it a jeep, that would be wrong.

Please excuse my spelling and grammar I know it sucks.

Not sure if I'm in the right spot but my '70 CJ6 hardbody has a 110" w/b. Is this common to another model?

I've been thinking for a while it would be cool to put a stretched CJ body on my CJ10 chassis (almost a waggie chassis). Already have fenders and grill to suit and the front body mounts should match up. 119" wheelbase should be plenty for four doors and a heap of cargo space. Cj bodies are rare and expensive here though so it probably won't happen
