got the blower motor upgrade done now this. if i turn my headlights on or the blower motor it dies:(. runs fine with it all off. the alternater i have is out of a 85 monte carlo ss it is 78 amp. i would think this would be enough since my old monte had air power locks and windows and ac.

I'd start by installing a relay in the headlight circuit. It'll give you brighter lights and keep the power draw off the fusebox or whatever it draws from. That might help some.

yes another project. anyone got a writeup on it. i know who (brock) lol. i got it goin. believe it or not i made the carb alittle richer and that worked.

thanks for the info guys.

well i thought i have it figured out. but went out tonight and same thing. if the heater is on full blast it kills the engine. same if it is on and the headlights are on.

Where exactly does the heater get its power from? If its still the stock wiring, you might modify it to pull directly off the battery, then see if it still kills the engine. If that fixes the problem, then wire it thru a ignition-switched relay pulling main power directly off the battery. The relay will allow it to shut off with the key off, but still allow full power directly off the battery.

Is that clear as mud?

thanks for the idea will have to try that.:chug:

tonight was the first cold night i got to drive the jeep and the blazer motor makes a hell of a difference. nice and toasty now:D.
