Guys I just bought a 1979 CJ7 , 20 minutes after I bought I had to catch a flight to London, which is where I am now. I'd like to get some parts ordered so when I get home I can work on it but I had a question related to the light switch. When I went to jeep4x4center.com website there are two switches listed for 1979. One with and one without the brass terminal connector. Does anyone know which one I would need? Any advice or help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I would go with brass, less issues with corrosion.

So they will both work is what you are saying?
It's hard the say, AMC use widely varying parts on their Jeeps. Some times It's best to remove the switch & take it with you to the auto parts store. That way you can compare. Is all that I can think of is a different plug.

If your just dieing to spend money on your new toy I would go with one of each.
If you understand that you have just embarked on what may be a rather expensive journey I would say wait and pull the switch and take it to the local NAPA and see if they have what you need.
The anticipation of waiting for things to arrive is fun, I guess, but returning the wrong part by mail is a PITA. Ordering parts from London sounds a bit risky to me.
start day dreaming about lockers and winches and stainless steel hardware, that should keep you occupied until you get home.
Support your local merchants!! it's good for the local economy.

I know there is different switches (found that out the hard way) so I have to agree with going to the local auto parts with your old one in hand.
Oh yea I would stay away from the OMIX-ADA , Rugged ridge, brands as I know there electrical parts not the best.
