I just recently rewired my entire CJ5 with the painless wiring kit. Now, When I pull my headlight switch one click the Parking lamps, side markers, and tail light/running lights come on. When i pull the headlight switch all the way out the tail lights stay on and the head lights come on but the parking lamps and side markers go off. In addition to this my turn signals and brake lights are not working at all. I replaced the turn signal switch in the column and replaced my original headlight switch with the GM headlight switch that the painless wiring kit manual had a diagram of. I was blowing the turn signal fuse but found a better ground, now no fuse blowing but still having same problem. Not sure where to start to diagnose this issue and could really use an electrical experts help.

I am no electrical expert, but I did do a new wire harness on my jeep. My harness was a Centech but shouldn't matter. Did you make sure that all the ground wires in your harness are used? Guys on here will tell you grounds, grounds, and more grounds. Make sure your rear lights have a separate ground. I believe my front lights and parking lights are grounded. I used new plugs for my lights.. I've got my battery grounded to the frame, and a good ground going to a ground junction block with ground wires for things going to that. I do a lot of electrical trouble shooting in my work, and most times you got to go over the wiring to make sure every connection is correct. I'm not the best on DC voltage, but if you were blowing fuses before, that shouldn't be a bad ground, it should be a hot wire going to ground somewhere, and I would check that out. you may have just moved it enough to stop blowing fuses. Hope this helps some.
