I'm kinda a new guy with Jeeps, but after spending so much time underneath my 80 CJ7 with lifted 35's, I'd swear there's room under the floor and above the back axle for a couple of 50 Cal ammo boxes. I have some 30-06 ammo boxes; I think I'll slip one under there and just get an idea. I'll post a pic if I can hold it in place long enough.

Since the back seats are usless on the '70's CJ's on both of mine I've had over the years I had a local HVAC shop weld up some for me for $60 unfinished! A can of Rustoleum and Dynamat makes for a great tool/locker box in place of the back seat and excellent bass response if you add a pair of 6x9's to the front.
