- I don't have a CJ but I'm looking for one to tow behind a small motorhome
Hello folks,
I'm new to the forum and new to CJ's.
I'm looking to get a CJ5 to pull behind a small motorhome. I looked at 1965 the other day it was in kind of ruff shape, actually not too bad for something almost as old as I am. It was a handfull to drive and the breaks didn't work too good but that might have been because I'm not use to NON power breaks and or steering. It had some lift I think maybe 2" or so and wider tires than it came with 235's I believe. It had the stock 4 cylinder and that seamed to be all the power I would need.
I had a Geo Tracker to tow but someone ran a stoplight......... Now I'm thinking I would like a Jeep. I'm thinking the CJ5 is the smallest and lightest of the CJ's if I'm wrong please correct me. I'm guessing one with a manual Transmission would tow with all 4 wheels on the ground with no problems with the high low gearbox in neutral?
I'm sure I'll have many more questions soon but for now I'm open to suggestions for a good Toad in the Jeep family.
Thanks,
Mike
