Well, maybe a little more than help. I have a 1984 CJ with L98 TPI motor that I was able to pick up for less than $4,000. The frame and body are in great shape.

I am looking to see if anyone can recommend a contact/shop that can install the brand new chassis and engine harness that I bought. The Jeep is currently in Providence, Rhode Island and I will be moving to Washington, DC after in January.

I have a couple pics of the Jeep here and hope that some fellow Jeep enthusiasts can help guide me along and get her rolling again.:chug:

Thanks!

So did you buy the Larry's harness for the engine?

I know that jumble of wires looks intimidating, but you can do it.

I'd lay your new one out on the garage floor kind of like its going to go into the vehicle. Spend awhile looking over the new one versus the mess in the jeep. Then you just have to jump in. I'd start at the back with the less complicated portion so you can knock that out. Take a look at the plugs and compare before you start tearing but it looks like a nice aftermarket harness from reading the description. Working up under the dash can be a bear; Ive ended up at the chiropractor many times after doing it.

This is one of those things thats easy to spend a lot of time looking at and wondering how the hell you'll ever do it so I'd do it in sections since it comes that way. Otherwise you can end up overwhelmed and not get anywhere.

When I got out of the automotive field 10 yrs ago, we were charging $75 and hour for labor. Can only imagine what it is now. I wouldn't be surprised to see an open ended estimate of 10-15hrs for installing both harnesses. That wouldn't even include trying to get it running.

Thanks for the post and advice!

I went with Larry's ECU kit and I am happy with the quality. Larry shipped it fast and the packaging was great.

I'll continue to post on my build thread as I will be pack in Rhode Island this week. I'll start by taking my time to lay out the chassis harness as you mentioned. It looks like a tough job but if you never start, you never learn!
