Missing hose connection_BBD Carb

Looking for some guidance. My '85 CJ7 , 6cyl has a hose connection at the base of the Bbd carb that just stops after about 3 inches (see pics). It is a T connector; the other link connects to the Brake booster. Can anyone tell me where this hose should connect? The previous owner had the tube plugged with a bolt that has since fallen out....now there is a loud hissing sound from air intake. Or, is this hose connection even needed? In some online photos I've seen, this portion of the t-connect is not hooked up to anything.

Any help would be great.

Plug that hole ASAP! As it's a massive vacuum leak, and you're suc'n lots of dirt into the engine.

Go to parts/hardware store and get a rubber cap to slip over it.
Looks waay better than a bolt.

Yes! Noticed the hissing right away and couldn't figure out what had happened. Went back through some old pics of the jeep and found one that showed the PO had stuck a bolt in there. As for the service manual....good call. Thx.

Looking at your pic, your missing several vac lines, egr, thermal switch and whatever was attached to the exhaust manifold. While those aren't drawing a vac, they are part of the smog system. If you live in an area where inspections are needed those would cause a failure. As mentioned above a FSM would help get those setup correctly.
