Hey all, Is the lower hose connection on the radiator a weak point in a 77 CJ7 with a AMC 304 ? I think mine is cracked or something as it looks like that is where it is leaking from. Is it a hard fix? I can solder a little, but never did a rad before. I still have to get it out to see exactly where the leak is. Thanks!

I have seen leaks there before, not just on CJ rads, but others also. They stem from people flexing the hose back and forth with too much force when trying to remove an old one for replacement or rad servicing. Obviously get it out and see for sure. In terms of repair, not too bad to do if you can solder OK and still have a brass rad.

My factory brass radiator started leaking around the drain plug. I couldn't find a solder guy, so I replaced it with a 4-core aluminum radiator. Best decision I ever made. Never overheats now.
