May be all in my head, but I think I got a little more power today. The exhaust on my CJ7 exited only about a half inch in front of the rear spring shackle, and the heat had done its thing on the bushing. So, I'm thinking, while I get the thing re-routed, why not upgrade? Do away with the cat (not required pre 84), higher flow muffler and bigger pipe? Ended up with a Super V muffler (flowmaster knockoff?), no cat, and 2 1/4 pipe straight out the back. Sounds like more power. And I had to let off the throttle to keep from scratching gravel (with 32" MT's)! And it actually accelerated going uphill. May be in the market for some vac line plugs and get rid of some of that CA :dung: under the hood.

Getting rid of the Cat is always a good way to increase flow and hp. When I was up north we had to have cat's but what we would do is run a pipe through them to clear out all the junk so it was just a shell so we could get the performance but still be "legal" :D

Did you ever clean up all of the vacuum lines and charcoal canister up front? How did it work out for you?
