Nice way to join the group with a great first post and a sweet Jeep. Welcome to the site.

Thanx for the kind words and encouragement. I had kinda lost interest in finishing this project, but lately I am getting the jeep bug again and I really want & need to finish what I started.

Today I cleaned 2 years worth of leaves out of it, and removed the seats, console, and roll cage.
I plan on next removing part the front-top section of the wheel-well's right at the bend behind the seats, and "flattening" the corner's to make about 4 more inches of seat travel.
I'm also gonna remove the 2 rear horizontal bars (pic 4) on the roll cage, and re-bend 2 more. From this; ______ , to this;\__________/.

Hopefully this will make it possible to get in and out of the jeep a heck of alot better.

I will post pics and keep you all up to date.

Again thanks, glad to be here.:chug:

Nice work! Looks like you may have run into a similar problem that I had as your seats look really high in there mount? could be the camera angle but to me looks like even a short person would have terrible head room.
I installed mastercraft seats in my cj on the factory brackets and they were so high my wifes feet did not touch the floor when seated! a day later after fabricating new brackets her feet are back on the floor and can look straight out the windsheild again..all is good.:).

yeah, I'm gonna take about 2" out of the seat frame also. I'm only 5'6", and at the present its tight even for me!

I have decided to do away with the diamondplate dash, Im going to fab one out of a nice piece of wood, and aluminum. As soon as I find my camera software I will post pics of the seat frame/rollcage mods, and the dash.

Fantastic CJ! Thanks for joining. :)

Thank you CJ. My pleasure. Since joining and checking out all the threads at this cool as heck site, it has re-kindled my desire to get back to the jeep and get it running again.
As soon as I get the seats where I want them, I'll tackle the ignition and try to get it running. Oh, btw, do you suppose that electric fan you have for sale will fit my jeep?
