Lol. Susie ship it to Slatington pa and I'll find use for it.
Hole , I had some ads that I just published on Craigslist before it crashed so I had to do something , and the library is only 2 blocks from my place...
Well between shuffling the kids around from baseball , swim team and soccer since I started this thread I finally started getting some work done. The floors are cut out and Im working on cutting out the rot in the rocker panels also. I was pretty nervous about this considering it was the first time chopping into the Cj-8s tub for me. I need a new charger for the cell phone so pics are a little delayed. I also got my stainless hood kit and ordered up enought Herculiner to do the entire inside of the tub. By weeks end all the new panels should be in.
The driver side was worse than the passenger. I had to cut away a good portion of the rocker. Luckily there was good metal in the area of the "Jeep" script so I was able to save it.
Anyhow. I got rained out last Sunday just like the Nascar race. My guys supposed to be there to weld the pans in tonite. Hopefully the rain will hold off and I'll have more pics tomorrow.
With the herculiner, you gonna spray or brush it on?
I bought mine as a kit when I did my first jeep, tossed the roller , and brushed it on, it was so much easier.
Well I got lucky enough and the rain held off yesterday. Originally I was going to have a body shop do this work , till they quoted me $550. I put up an ad on Craigslist and Jamie agreed to help me out for a mere $AMC 150 .
Of course there did have to be a problem. The rocker panel I bought from Quadratec wasnt bent correctly. If you look at the pic of the patch panel you can see it doesnt mate up correctly. Luckily I saved the old part and the compound bend of the door sill is usable. Jamie is coming back to finish it up another day. Then its a couple minor things and off for inspection.
