Hello All

First want to say this forum was instramental in giving me advice/help in the selection process for my first Jeep CJ7 . I ended up with a 1984 CJ-7 that I got for a good price. It was not the year i wanted or the Transmission (T-5 ) but I'm not a huge off roader (yet) and most important was the body. Which is rust free and with the tub rhino lined. I am going to do all the basic checks through the jeep, brakes, fluids, engine, trans, but I have one thing that I'm not sure how to address.

My emergency/park brake will not hold the car on a hill. Is this something I can easily tighten? Should I look at replacing it? Right now I park in gear, but I don't want to chance it on hills.

I'm relatively new to this, and don't have a lot of mechanical skill yet, but ready to learn.

Thanks

Like CJ said...it probably just needs adjusting unless it is completely shot. But I have seen them for sell on Ebay fairly cheap. Good luck.

Post a couple of pics of your jeep when you get time...always like seeing what people have.

Be sure to leave in 1st gear when parked also to keep it from rolling. You may already do this but I thought I would mention it.
