:confused:I am trying to figure out what the sensor/switch is that is located on the left side of a '79 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l motor. it is in the block about halfway back and halfway up.

Do it have a bunch of little tits sticking out for vac lines?? If so, It's a temp switch that opens and closes when the water temp heats or cools. it activates parts of the junk emisson system.
