I bought an unfinished,84 CJ7 fiberglass body, 1 " body lift, 4 " spring lift, 350 chevy 350 turbo, 205 Transfer Case , not completed, need some help!! is there someplace to buy a Transmission brace? ( bolt up or weld in?) or do I have to make one? where should I put it? also I'm 6'5 and have a problem sitting so close, any way to get a new seat slider or modify it so it slides back further? or maybe move the seat back? it has stock seats. where is the best place to mount seat belts? I am new to the jeep thing and NOT a mechanic , any help would be appreciated, Thanks

Not sure if you need a Transmission skid plate or the torque arm to help prevent the engine/Transmission from twisting. For your seats, something like two 3/8"x1 1/2" aluminum strips to replace the seat slider. This way you can put the seat in a location permanently where you want it and it will also sit lower. Sometimes you just have to develop or modify an existing seat bracket that will put you in a comfortable position. If you have the oem seats, I would think they should be in pretty bad shape by now and provide a lousy ride. A slightly smaller diameter steering wheel can help also.

Not sure what you mean by Transmission brace. I just welded in a piece of square tube (with holes drilled in it for a socket and Transmission . mount studs) to the skid plate that the stock (TH350)Transmission mount could bolt through.
I'm not running the stock skid anymore though so I have no pics.

None of that driveline is stock. You are going have to start fabbing up stuff to work.

This is the biggest reason not to buy unfinished Jeep projects. As soon as the owner figures out how many thousands of dollars it is going to take to get parts to fit, they sell the project off to some unsuspecting guy just to recover what they can. Hope you did not pay much because if you are not good at fabbibg and working metal, then get out the checkbook.
