Don't need any smog stuff in OK. Did the 77 have side markers in the rear? A member on another forum says that the back end has had work done on it.

Yes the 77 had sidemarker lights on the rear. Id guess a tub swap or possibly have the holes patched in. Not sure why they would do that but its possible. More likely a newer tub in my opinion

I think I can get it for around $4500. This pic is the one that I am concerned about. Why paint if you still have bodywork to do?

The real damage is in the door (removable). But the guys in the other forum probably already told you that. They seem to be pretty good at this, you were probably right to go there first with this, if I were you I'd take their advice.

I wasn't getting a lot of views on my old thread so I started another one. Now I am getting hits on both go figure. Thank you for all of the advice. Not sure what I am going to do with this one.

Seems easy enough, if it were me I'd look down and notice I have a pair and make a decision.

If it's still difficult there are lots of Wranglers out there to choose from. Just think about it, nice comfy seats, warm heater, door locks, carpeting, soft fuzzy this and that, lots of parts available some of them even come in pink, fancy radios you can hear while driving and you wouldn’t want to get bored so there are lots of opportunities to plug in your I-device. The best part is a Wrangler driver doesn't need to get his vehicle dirty to feel like he belongs.
