Ah, nice to be in a CJ forum!!! I have purchased a 1981 CJ7 Laredo about two weeks ago. I have access to a 302 out of a 1994 mustang that I would like to use. I've read pros and cons about the swap but would apprciate the input from fellow jeepers. I want to run 37's on her but I dont think the stock AMC20 and Dana 30 will handle them, what would be an affordable option. I tryed to order my lift kit, after mounds of research, a Rubicon Express 4.5" but couldnt find one (appearently they went bankrupt...) any comparable lifts??? As far as the Tranny goes, it seems that a M5R2 would bolt right up to the 302 but not sure if the Dana 300 Transfer Case would work? Any suggestions would be of great appreciation/help. I want this to be a quality build that still goes down the highway with great trail capability! Thanks and its great to be apart of your forum!!!

i just did this swap in a 95 i used a T-18 Dana 300 with a flip kit i have pics if you are interested

That would be awesome. How do you like it? I have tons of things I would like to learn from you... how was the wiring harness/was your 302 EFI? Did the extra length end up being a problem in regards to the radiator? I am very jealous, I bet it is a sweet thing to have a 302 in your yj!!! I am very interested in seeing some pics, excited just to see it in the bay!!!
