Hello folks,
Im new to the site, I needed some help with a 85 CJ7 that my wife and I bought a few years ago to fix up and enjoy. Then life got in the way. So not much work has been done just a lot of driving it and as needed repairs. I was doing a web search and your site came up with some info that I found helpful so I decided to join
I have a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l with a 5sp tranny and a p.o.s. Carter carb. Here's where I need the help. The carter has a flat spot in it so I decided to replace it. When i went looking for a replacement i found the weber carb. (Doesn't appear to be California legal) a friend suggested the MC 2100 as a good replacement, some feel it is better then the carter or weber. I don't know myself was looking for some advice which Is the better way to go. I would also like to get rid of them smog
on this jeep as I will be moving to New Mexico in about a year and the smog is not required.
