New Gas Tank, Trying to start up the cj

I put maybe 2 gallons of gas in the new tank poured a tiny bit in the carb. it starts for just a second then stops do I need more gas?

Id put a little bit more into it, but more then likely you need to prime the linesLAst time I started a jeep that had the tank replaced it took awhile. put some gas down the carb.. start it and keep it going by manually giving it fuel. I used starter fluid to get it primed. We also had to replace the fuel pump. My method might not be the most favorable..
