New here with fuel gage problems among many

Just joined the forum realizing I need a lot of help to get my 78 CJ7 fully road ready and dependable. I replaced the fuel tank sending unit and the fuel gage still doesn't work. Are there any good aftermarket gages that are compatible with the OE Jeep sending unit? Thanks!

The fuel gage can be a tricky one sometimes. In the diagram note the wire that connects the fuel gauge and the temp gauge together. Sometimes just one of the connections is loose but here is the diagnostic path.

I bought my parts thru Morris 4X4 but what I didn't know that their were two resistive values on the 78 CJ7 's so what I ended up doing was replacing the fuel sending unit and putting a new speedometer that had the fuel gage in it. And along with that came a wiring diagram. You could ohm out your sending unit to see what you have. I did some checking on line and found plenty of information.
