Funny thing is we all still have that feeling. Be careful. Next thing you know you'll own multiple Jeeps. :D

That is too funny. I had a 88 Cherokee at one point that was lifted with 33 in. bfg mud terrains. It was also herculined in red all the way around. My "wife" Vicki used to drive it all the time. We took it from here in Pa. to Va. beach 2 years in a row on vacation. I kinda miss it at times. Wish I had some pics. I'll have to see if maybe some of my club guys have any.
ya acctualy i am going tommorow to look at an 88 cherokee for my 16 year old LOL

One of the best off-road rigs I ever drove was a Cherokee, still didn't compare to my CJ though...

It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand!

Yeah...Sometimes it takes years to come out, but one thing I have come to realize over the years. Jeepers are born, not made. Some discover it when their kids, some find out when their 60, but when you see them sit their <-BAD WORD-> behind the wheel of a rusty old CJ for the first time, and you see that big grin on their face, you know a new jeeper was just born.:chug:

The first day i got my 7 running i had the biggest grin on face, and then when i found out the radiator had a whole in it i got that feeling like when your a 14 year old kid and you have a crush on a girl and you finally get the balls to ask her out and she says no, ya that feeling sucks <-BAD WORD->, like the biggest let down in the world.

I had always wanted a Jeep but had just never bought one. I traded for a 74 CJ5 on new years eve 2008 and drove it 80 miles home in 24* weather with just a bikini top.
I now own 4 Jeeps my 74 CJ5 , a 66 CJ5 , a 81 CJ7 and a 83 DJ5 (my 15 year old sons "my dj5"). The only one I bought was the 66 ($900), I traded for the rest. We love them all, they are fun to drive, and once you fix the PO issues very dependable.
"its a jeep thing you wouldnt understand":notworthy:

My brother owned a few before I could legally drive but right when I got my liscence the first thing I drove was a cj. Have had one ever since, well except for the couple months i was without when I sold my old 7 for my downpayment on my house.... didn't last too long tho cuz now I have my 8. don't know how I made it those couple months without a jeep

I got a jeep in my 20s, found a 65 CJ5 that had a froze engine and questionable drive train, before it was over i had the drivetrain from several different eras of jeeps in there, just whatever fit and drove that thing for 20 years till it committed suicide. I bought another brand 4x4 after that and never felt right in it, You see it is a jeep thing.
I also have owned a Wrangler since then, but that was never right, even though it was the best jeep I had ever trailed, it was never a CJ.
You see a Jeep becomes part of the family. You will go places and have so many memories with the wife and kids you do not want to get rid of it, there will always be the jeep to go out and explore in. That is why it is a Jeep thing.
But a CJ becomes part of it's owners soul. You pour hours into it making it just what you want, how it looks, how it runs, all that reflects you. Weather rough and tough, neat and shiney, or just old forgotten and beat up. How it runs, like new, a few quirks or just everything needs attention is you too. I think everyone here can agree that is true.
You will always have a project for your jeep. and will think of it everyday but if you own a CJ you will always be proud of owning a piece of history and being able to keep a classic alive.
It may be a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand
But if you own CJ,,,, It is a CJ thing, there is no understanding
