I am new to this forum but have owned a 60 cj for 9 years. In fact it was my first vehicle. I now just recently (2 weeks ago) aquired an 83 CJ7 . already have the motor out and sent to machine shop.:o

Welcome :chug: Post up some pics of your rigs ;)

use to drive the one now im working on another. the 60 is in my dads garage and will be driving when i take leave in 2 weeks will post pics. the 83 the motor is getting machined, will post in a month on that.

appreciated. 6 years and counting. I got a degree out of it lol.

:notworthy: Thank you for your service and sharing your Cjs with us. One early Cj and then a later model. Makes perfect sense to me. :D

maybe i can keep up with the traffic in the newer one and maybe have some heat in the winter.

Even the 80s era Cjs dont have that great of heat. Its in the small blower motor they use. Theres an upgrade where you cut away a little sheetmetal and use a blower motor out of a Blazer. Whilt the engine is out may be the best time to do it.

maybe ill think about that. I just made a new wire harness and nuttered the jeep today. I now need to scrub the dirt off the firewall and frame. any ideas for that? simple green?

Simple green in conjunction with a pressure washer will take it right off.
Great looking rigs you've got there. The frontal pis of the 83 looks like some awfully long shackles up front. How does she drive down the road at highway speeds?

update on cjs. I took my first vehicle (60)out with my daughter and wife and blasted and coated the frame and firewall of the newly aquired CJ7 (83)
