Newbie Trying For Engine Start

Newbie Trying For Engine Start
Ok friends here's the latest update. Finally got it started after a new crankcase pos sensor, coil, and lost ground to cam pos sensor. All of this and testing the fuel injectors both fuel rail pressure and electrical firing and compression check on all cylinders (this is a new rebuilt engine never fired before put in by po). Still only got backfire outa the throttle body. So after indexing the distributor the last time, I set the rotor at 11oclock instead of 5 and wired the firing order from there. Cranked up like a brand new engine. Did my happy dance and grabbed another adult beverage. Thanks for everyone's help!

Right on LG.
Still have some electrical issues with gauges. And until I get my oil gauge fixed I don't want to run the engine. Then the next job is an exhaust system and front driveshaft. Then state inspection and registration. And try to put as many mile on it as possible before the Aug ouray trip.

Are you required to do any type of SMOG testing?
What does the state inspection look/check for?

Yes LG, we do have smog testing.

Due to the age of the vehicle, you shouldn't have to pass a smog test. It will be just a basic safety inspection. Or at least mine was and we have the same smog regulations as you.
