I recently purchased my CJ5 and have been using every free minute working on it. I finally got to replacing the fluid in my front and rear differentials. After pulling the pumkin off and cleaning 40 years of muck off the metal, I found this little nugget. Original placards indicating 4.27 gears, which I believe we're an option that year. I recently put 35's on and was amazed at how well the jeep handled the larger tires when I thought I had standard 3.73 gears. I had a gear change slatted for the future, but in light of my discovery I'm good. I must have done something right recently to get this little reward.
