No high beams, any thoughts?

No high beams, any thoughts?
If you have relays for the light control that makes it that much easier to find the problem. find the relay and see if the couil is energised and if so is the switch closed. If they did it right there should be a 15 amp fuse in the power circuit as well, something else to check.

I am tracing back the wires as they have been upgraded to Halogen H3 bulbs and now include relays. This was done before I owned the jeep. Again thanks for everyones help. I will let you know what I find.

When mine messed up it was as easy as a new foot switch aka dimmer switch aka hi beam switch

I like to find what the problem is before I start replacing parts.
If it is a bad switch you will not be getting voltage at the relay coil. Of course it may also be the wire between the switch and the relay. You can easily check the switch with a VOM. There are 3 terminals on the switch after you pull the connector, put the VOM on ohms and check continuity. the terminal on the bottom(I think) is common, you will have a circuit from common to one of the other two terminals and when you bush the button that one will open and the other one will close. On the plug the female terminal that goes to the common will have voltage to ground when the light switch( the thing you pull out on the dash) is on.
What kind of relays are you using??
something like these??
60 amp Automotive Relay with Mounting Tab

Glad I found this thread. My high beams cut out while I was driving. I had kicked them down to low beams for oncoming traffic and when I tapped the switch to put the highs back on I got nothing. Both lights were out. Tapped the switch again and got low beams.

So is it safe to assume it's the switch that went bad?

It is a 6+ year old thread-

My bet, the floor switch has died.

I know it's old. I found it on a Google search.

Thanks for your reply.

Good luck-Let us know what you find out.
Hint-Take the floor switch in with you to a NAPA and see if they can do an 'eye-ball' match up.
