Howdy folks. Just got the CJ some new kicks and when they went to torque the rear wheels with the brake on they didn't hold. I'm supposed to bring it back in to adjust the rear brakes later.

This sounds too easy...is it possible? It actually does stop OK and the front rotors and pads still look good. Just trying to get a heads up on any possible issues and (hopefully) cheap fixes.

Thanks! :chug:

If the adjusting levers are set up correctly, all you have to do is back up and hit the brakes hard. The levers will ratchet the cogs to tighten up the space on the drums.

If they are not set up right, you will have to manually adjust them. That defeats the purpose of self adjusting brakes...

are you talking about rear brakes or rear E-brakes?????
