So I've been exploring for a couple days reading up on carburetors and stuff. I have an inline 6 with a single barrel carb I believe. My question being is there a carb I can put on that would run better as in gas mileage. She's my daily driver along with an fz6. Trying to get the most bang for my buck. Sorry if this was already brought up but people talking about 4bbl on 2 and I just got overwhelmed lol. Thanks for any help.

Why don't you rebuild the one you have now?
What mpg are you look'n for? Mine runs about 16 mpg on level ground at 65mph.
CJ's were never built as a 'economy car'.

I think you can throw a MC2100 on there and get better mileage.

The resident Carb guy is Elwood Blues.

Search for "MC2100" or "carb swap" and should help out.

Can also search for things like "fuel mileage" etc and they may help yield results too.

Then if still have questions let us know :chug:

Lumpy I think he has the "Carter" but could be wrong. If so i think i remember them being not too nice on fuel efficiency / driveability. However I have never owned one and OP didn't state which one he has... so really just shot in the dark.:chug:

I have the carter 1 barrel. This forum is the ____. Just throwing that out there lol

X2 on the MC2100

What are you getting for gas mileage at this point now?

Otherwise is the carb running / performing good?

The MC2100 swap i mentioned does come with some complications, and depending what state you are in, SMOG inspection may be a issue when registering. All things to consider...

Don't dive right into it without further research, or you'll be back screaming "that Jr guy sucks!" lol

:chug:

Haha I appreciate the advice. Shockingly I'm getting like 16ish it's just stalling a lot. I'm in Georgia and don't have any regulations on that.
