Will I have issues with clearance on the booster?

Thanks,.

It'll be close, and you'll only be able to fit a 7 or 9" round air cleaner on top.

I'm running a stock 2 barrel intake with a Holley 390, the Offenhauser intake isn't the problem, it's the Holley and linkage that makes it a pain, but it's definitely do able.

Google image search will show quite a few CJs and YJs that make it fit :chug:

Take pics if/when you do I'd like to see firsthand pics.

Thanks Elwood. I just bought a soft top so it might have to wait until next month or so. I'll post up pics if I do it.

I think you mount the Holley with the fuel bowls to the side on the Offy intakes. I think the air cleaner will be the only clearance issue.

I have the set up you are asking about. I will take pics. And I was able to squeeze in a 12 inch air filter.

Thanks. As many as you think I need to see. I would particularly like to see how you have the throttle linkage setup so I can start getting it together.

Sure. Just as I typed that it started to rain pretty good. So I will get pics as soon as possible.

I hope these help. As you can see, the air cleaner housing is 12" but the filter itself is not. The bottom of the housing was bent a bit to fit. I have not gotten a smaller housing yet.

That is a tight fit! I think I only have a 9" on my MC2150 currently so that might work.

I'd assume you're pretty happy with the setup?

Thanks by the way.

I am happy. But the gas mileage sucks. More power than my old setup though.

By the way, I believe the filter is a 9" so you should be fine.

Stock set up before. But it was having major blow by so it was getting 9 mpg. I got a used AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l that was rebuilt and it had the set up already. Now I am getting about 11 mpg. So yeah. Not good.

Last time I filled up I calculated 16mpg, but I'm not running the dual plane intake :dunno:

Maybe I have a heavy foot. Or not tuned so great. Don't know. The previous owner of the engine and set up said he was getting 15 or so. So it must be me.

I would think the dual plane would only give you the potential for better fuel ecconomy. More HP to move the same weight=more efficient. Guess I need to see the benefits of the Offy to see if there is a MPG loss when adding it.

when you get to the air cleaner you might want to think about this bad boy!!!! it might fit with some mods i got it for $100 from Gronk Performance complete everything you need from filter to mounting brackets.

and this will give you cooler air, which might lead to more HP MPGs not much but you'll gain. the air where my new air filter is 20deg cooler then above the intake, and thats at an idle. even cooler once im rolling i havent tested that but science would say yes!:chug:

20 degrees cooler yet still under the hood? I would not have thought there would be that much difference from left to right.

Somehow I doubt that there was that significant of a drop within the engine compartment. I'd like to see proof of that.

To be honest though I purchased my 2150 from him. It wasn't setup properly and he told me that it had certain size jets, which it didn't have. In any case I'm somewhat happy with the purchase I made, but more than likely I"m going with the Holley 390 (whether or not I go with the manifold, I'm not sure yet).

ok get a infrared temp i have one for my r/c car it helps tune it, but anyway get a reading from the top of the intake...... then get a reading from when i have placed my air cleaner. there you go i dont have the reading off hand i don't remember, its also snowing outside. so when it clears up i'll send the data! i didnt believe myslef untell i did the temp gun. if you think about it the carb is sitting on a heater!!! drawning cooler air from the passenger side which dose not have a set of headers blasting heat straight up at the air cleaner.

dont get me wrong i realize the air warms up by the time it reaches the carb but still cooler then air cleaner on top the carb.
