I'm trying to do the alignment on my CJ7 myself and it appears the rear axle isnt straight.

3 of my OMU springs have 11J25 printed on them, but one has 8A24 and its on the rear where I suspect I'm not aligned properly.

I thought they were build codes when I was assembling so I didnt think anything of it.

If I measure from the front eyebolt (in the rear) to the u bolt plate, sure enough it's about a half inch shorter than the other side.

Did they send me the wrong spring? I tried googling the numbers but couldn't find anything.

Definitely sounds like you have a one off spring difference. Definitely worth a phone call tomorrow.

I went out and took a second look at them. They all have the same part number printed on them, CS036R. So, that other number must be a date code or something.

I'm going to try loosening the ubolts and see if I can get any adjustment out of them

I seem to recall from a discussion I had with a friend who was straightening his frame, that there was a whole series of frames built with a slight mis-match on the rear spring hangers? FWIW, it doesn't appear that my 83 rear axle sits even in the fenders, and that the right side sits a bit rear-ward than the left. Obviously, it so concerns me that I've not bothered to measure it in the many (many) years that I've owned it. I also have OME springs on a YJ upgrade kit- but that shouldn't matter for the rear.

Sorry I can't be much more help. But maybe measuring the location of the spring hangers with relation to the front springs may tell a story.

Did you install the Spring,
end for end Backwards?
One end is usually longer.

Just to note,
we used to Reverse the Right Rear Spring on Short Track Race Cars, it automatically makes Left Turns !!

I was careful to install all arrows pointing toward the frame mounts. But, I did question myself and double check that.
